Summary of Role

The primary role of a chef involves the preparation and cooking of food through a variety of methods. With our client’s recruiting chefs for a range of organisations from restaurants through to hotels, the nature of the chef’s role can vary depending on the setting.

Chefs can be found working as the head chef and leader of an entire kitchen or part of a larger team under the supervision and guidance of a head chef. Typical Duties

  • Food preparation, cooking and top level presentation in line with standards
  • Prompt serving of food
  • Complying with the latest relevant hygiene, health and safety standards.
  • Monitoring production of food to ensure consistency in quality and portion size
  • Controlling and managing stock levels
  • Assisting the head chef and sous chef to develop new menus and dishes
